Health Expo 2014

October 29, 2014

Thanks for making our 11th Annual Health Expo the biggest and best yet!

HappyThe 11th Annual Health Expo returned to Over-the-Rhine’s vibrant Washington Park. 15,000 attendees came out to enjoy the sunshine and festivities. At the forefront of the day’s events were the myriad health screenings, fitness demonstrations and activities, and live entertainment.

Over 20 health screenings were offered for both children and adults. This included (amongst others) screenings, exams, and information on blood pressure, glucose, HIV, Hepatitis C, cholesterol, body fat, mammography, asthma, vision, stress, and prostate cancer.

We also wanted to give attendees the opportunity to participate in fun activities and fitness demonstrations. The Movin’ and Groovin’ stage and Children’s Pavilion both offered a diverse array of programming that enticed people to move along! We even had a record-setting crowd who gathered to get footloose and dance ‘The Wobble.’

Finally, the Expo offered people some nutrition for their souls through live entertainment. From performances by local entertainers like our Sing Out for Health competitors and the Cincinnati Stars Marching Band to the concert by national musical act, ConFunkShun, there was a little something for everyone’s taste. Health is a state of mind and everyone in attendance was happy by the time they left.

World’s Largest ‘Wobble’ Line

The Health Gap is excited to announce that it successfully achieved the Guinness World Records title for “Largest Wobble Dance.” At the 11th Annual Health Expo, 2,241 people of all ages gathered on 14th Street along Washington Park to dance their way to the new world record.

“No one is thinking about burning calories while dancing the Wobble,” says Health Gap President and CEO, Dwight Tillery. “One of the best parts about setting this record is that thousands of people came together—exercised together—and demonstrated that health can be about having fun and working collaboratively as a community to achieve a common goal.”

I would like information on your 2016 expo. The CEI Foundation would like to provide vision and glaucoma screenings for adults.
