Even a 5-minute run can help prevent heart disease

How often do you run? A new study published in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology suggests that running, even for a few minutes a day can reduce your risk of dying from heart disease. The researchers studied more than 55,000 adults between the ages of 18 and 100 over a 15-year period, looking at their overall health, whether they ran and how long they lived.

CNN: Depression a ‘powerful’ risk factor for heart disease in young women

A new study proposes that young women are twice as likely to suffer from a heart attack or die of heart disease if they suffer from depression.  A recent study asked patients a few questions to determine if they were depressed prior to receiving a medical procedure.  They found that patients who were under 55 years of age and experiencing depression had double the chance of experiencing a heart attack or having heart disease …
