My Black Family Reunion Celebration was inaugurated in August 1989 in Cincinnati, Ohio. It is held annually the third weekend of August in various locations that includes a day-long celebration at Sawyer Point and Yeatman’s Cove. Through the generous support of sponsors, the event is open to the public at no charge and has grown to attracting over 50,000 people of all ages each year.
Click here to learn more about the kickoff event on Fountain Square. The 32nd Annual Black Family Reunion Parade happens Saturday, August 21, 2021, at 10 a.m. at the Avondale Town Center, followed by the celebration at Sawyer Point.
The two days of celebrations at Sawyer Point include family-fun activities, food, health screenings and live entertainment.
The Urban Concert series on Saturday features Dru Hill, SisQo, Nokio and Black. The Urban Gospel Concert on Sunday features Darwin Hobbs.
